  • The New Avon United Methodist Church is going to be celebrating its 100 years of worship, service  and witness in its rural community June 9, 2013.
The congregation is inviting all friends of New Avon to join us in this celebration.
Southern Prairie District Superintendent Phil Strom is going to be preaching at the morning worship service at 9:30 a.m. followed by the noon meal at Pizza Ranch in Redwood Falls.
Each person is responsible for the purchase of their own meal.   Reserva-tions are not necessary. A party room has been reserved for the church group beginning at approximately 11:15 a.m.
A celebration worship service is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Daniels presiding. All former pastors in attendance are going to be invited to share a few thoughts about their years at New Avon. A coffee hour is going to be held following the afternoon service to allow time for visiting with other guests.
This is the final worship service to be held at the New Avon United Methodist Church, because the congregation is going to be discontinuing.
A church history/memory book is going to be available to order for purchase the day of the celebration. The completed book would then be mailed to everyone who has made pre-payment and given their address to the committee. All proceeds from the sale of the book are going to be sent to missions.
