A memorial service will be held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls May 4, 2013 at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour before the service, for Vincent Myron Ness, who passed away in Mesa, Ariz. January 15, 2013 as a result of a heart attack.
Vince was born to Myron and Genieva (Glueson) Ness February 21, 1941 in Lake City. After moving to Redwood Falls in 1954, he attended Redwood Falls High School graduating in 1960. After graduation, Vince went to work for his dad and uncle (Ken) buying and selling used tires. He and his brother, Dave, bought the family business in 1977. Later, Vince purchased Dave’s share and continued Ness Tire Supply, Inc. until retirement in 2007.
Vince was a fun loving man who enjoyed socializing with friends and family. His hobbies were playing cards, duck and deer hunting, fishing and traveling. He enjoyed his retirement years traveling, spending winters in Arizona and summer at the Old Wagon Campground.
Vince enjoyed spending time with family and friends who all knew him by his big smile and trademark cowboy hat.
Vince is survived by his beloved wife Dianne of 34 years, son Scott Ness, daughter Tammy (Dan) Yrjo, step-daughters Dana and Darla Fehlandt, sister Bonnie (Rod) Leopold, grandchildren Brady and Jessica Yrjo, Braxton, Tyson and Pilar William.
Vince was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David.
