Home ownership used to be easy. You just chopped down some trees, built a cabin, and were home.
Today it can be much more of a challenge getting through all the financing and red tape involved.
Considering it’s one of the biggest purchases you’ll ever make, the costs of mistakes can be huge.
To help prospective homeowners negotiate their way through the thicket of confusion, the Redwood Falls Public Library is hosting Home Stretch, a homeowners workshop, on Wed., March 20.
The eight-hour (with break) class, which runs from 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., was created by the Southwest Minnesota Houseing Partnership (SWMHP), a Slayton-based non-profit organization serving 30 counties in rural Minnesota.
According to SWMHP, the classes are held in multiple languages, and cost a $30 one-time fee.
At the end of the class, attendees received a certificate.
