The third annual Redwood County Big Buddies Wii Olympics fundraiser is being held April 6.
The event is open to anyone of any age, and teams are currently being sought to take part in the fundraiser. Teams consist of five people who each raise a minimum of $50. The funds can be raised through pledges or through business sponsorship.
According to Leslie Myrom, Redwood County Big Buddies coordinator, the goal is to have 40 teams taking part in the event, which is being held at Cornerstone Church in Redwood Falls.
From the hours of 1-4 p.m. team members compete in a variety of events, including archery, basketball, bowling, golf and table tennis, with medals awarded to the winning teams.
Big Buddies is a community-based, one-to-one mentoring program which matches youth ages five to 17 with positive, caring volunteers. Every day Big Buddies meets kids in Redwood County who are in need of the guidance of a caring adult in their lives.
The support of programs such as Bib Buddies can help lead youth in a path of positive opportunities.
