Another exciting, educational and fun series of travel programs is scheduled to begin at the Redwood Falls Public Library Jan. 14 at noon when Judie Fox makes a presentation about her trip this past October to Istanbul.
Judie and her husband joined an interesting escorted trip led by the owner of Cafe Maude in Minneapolis.
“Some of the memorable experiences in Istanbul were going to a Turkish bath, a long conversation with a young Islamist businessman, seeing the Whirling Dervishes, boat trips on the Bosphorus and visiting mosques,” said Fox.
The series continues Jan. 28 when Henry and Mary Jo Boots talk about their trip to Turkey in late 2010.
The audience is going to hear about a four-night cruise on the Mediterranean, a balloon ride in Cappa-docia and many other experiences throughout the country.
Those in attendance are going to see Brazil through the eyes of Mary Gross on a trip taken in February 2012. This program is scheduled for Feb. 11.
Steve Prokosch is going to take the audience to rural China Feb. 25 where he traveled on a See For Yourself Trip with the Minnesota Soybean Growers Association.
The series continues March 11 with Diane Radel who is going to share her many experiences as a Red Cross volunteer. Her most recent work was in the disaster left by Hurri-cane Sandy this past November.
The final program is March 25 when Harry and Joyce Johnson share their experiences of traveling around the entire island of Iceland in June 2012.
All of the travel programs begin at noon and last one hour in the library meeting room. The programs are free and open to the public.
Refreshments are being served.
