Five defendants – four women and one man – appeared in Redwood County Fifth District court earlier this month to face felony charges in connection with a theft from the Walmart Store in Redwood Falls.
Courtney Maria Green, 24, of Minneapolis, Kevin Leon Bishop, 29, of Minne-apolis, Tiara Lashon Ligon, 23, of Brooklyn Park, Las-onya Denise Miles, 25, of Minneapolis and Gretta Maria Maxwell, 42, of Minne-apolis were all charged in the incident which occurred Dec. 11.
According to the Red-wood County Attorney’s Office, Miles, Maxwell and Ligon are accused of entering the Walmart store and loading up grocery carts with electronics and other items and then exiting the store without paying for the items.
The stolen items were then allegedly loaded in to a vehicle owned by Green with the help of Bishop.
The county attorney’s office officially filed complaints Dec. 12.
Law enforcement later stopped the vehicle in Gibbon and located the stolen items from the Red-wood Falls store, as well as items reported as stolen from the Walmart in Mar-shall. The total value of all stolen items found the vehicle was approximately $9,000. According to Steven Collins, Redwood County attorney, Lyon County authorities are also investigating the incident and are considering charges.
The defendants are all being represented and are going to appear in court again in the next few weeks.
