Lisa Kay Kronick, 51, of Minneapolis died Friday, December 7, 2012 at the Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 11, 2012, from Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, with burial in Lakewood Cemetery in south Minnea-polis. Gill Brothers Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Lisa Kay Saelens Kronick was born February 14, 1961, in Springfield Community Hospital in Springfield. She was baptized into the Lutheran faith in Sharon Lutheran Church, Lamberton.
She grew up in the Minneapolis area, attending St. Louis Park schools.
After high school, Lisa worked in the used clothing industry for a number of years in the Minneapolis area, during which time she was a clothing model and also coordinated and produced a number of fashion shows.
Subsequently, she worked for a number of years for the original AVEDA store in south Minneapolis. In the late 1990s, Lisa became a realtor, working as an agent for several years for Burnet Realty on France Avenue in Edina.
Lisa and Alex Kronick met in 1996 and were married on New Year’s Eve 2001 at the Calhoun Beach Club in Minneapolis. They celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary in December 2011. After their marriage, Lisa continued working her real estate business and then became a homemaker when her sons were born. She was first and foremost a loving wife and mother.
In June 2008, Lisa was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer; she courageously fought the cancer for four and one half years, until it finally overcame her physical body December 7, 2012.
She had a singularly strong spirit and a deep faith in her Lord; she will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and happy, outgoing personality. She was generous, loving, a true friend to many. She was indeed unique among God’s children.
Lisa is survived by her husband, Alex M. Kronick and her three sons, Rex and Rory Kronick of the home and Harrison Tenpas and fiance’ Elizabeth Condon of Los Angeles, Calif.; her parents Richard F. Saelens (Karen) of Anoka, and Kay Buetow Saelens (Winslow) Scott of Redwood Falls; brothers Chris D. (Tara) Saelens of Jenison, Mich. and Jon A (Cindy) Scott of Carmel, Ind.
She is also survived by her step-siblings Jennifer (Al) Potere of Franklin, Tenn., Sarah (Jim) Moat of Chanhassen, Bridget Scott (Doug) Delozier of Brentwood, Tenn., Matthew E. Scott of Aurora, Col., and Micheal P. (Sheila) Scott of Apple Valley.
Lisa is also survived by her husband’s family, Averill and Anne Marie Kronick and Adrienne of Minneapolis. Lisa leaves behind numerous loving nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, many, many cousins – and many dear friends.
Lisa was preceded in death by her grandparents: Frank and Evelyn Saelens of St. Paul and Art and Harriet Buetow of Redwood Falls.
