Titan Machinery has 104 dealerships across North America, and the newest one opened on the east side of Redwood Falls on Nov. 13.
Store Manager Caleb Hinkkanen said Titan has planned on creating a bigger facility every since the company bought Schoffman’s implement dealership about a year and a half ago.
“The size of the machinery keeps getting bigger, and now we can work on it indoors,” he said.
Since Titan moved to Redwood Falls, it has added another 10 full-time employees — yet another reason for a larger facility. The Redwood Falls shop now employs 22 full-timers.
“Efficiency was the largest hurdle at the old facility,” Hinkkanen said. “We can utilize the people we have more efficiently now. They’re not all working on top of each other, and can have more than one project going on at a time.”
In addition, the new 17-acre facility allows all the equipment to be kept in one space. Customers don’t need to cross Bridge St. anymore to look over new equipment.
The new facility also includes larger spaces for the sales, repair, and parts service departments.
“We have more of a focus on technology now. GPS is a big thing for us,” said Hinkkanen. “You need to have people who know the technology inside and out.”
The Titan facility in Redwood Falls specializes in Case IH equipment. Titan’s nearest similar facility, in Marshall, also features Case IH, but also has New Holland implements, and construction equipment.
