Police department completes its tobacco checks
- All Redwood stores tested by the police department passed the test this year, not selling tobacco products to underaged buyers.
The Redwood Falls Police department conducted tobacco sales compliance checks in the City of Redwood Falls Nov. 15.
Working with plain clothes and uniformed officers, an underage buyer entered local establishments and attempted to illegally purchase tobacco products.
All of the local establishments which were checked refused to sell to the underage buyer.
The following establishments were checked and complied with the law by not selling tobacco products to the underage buyer:
• Super America
• The Liquor Lodge
• The American Legion Post
• The Bottle Shop
According to the Redwood Falls Police Department, a check was not made at the VFW, as it was closed at the time the compliance checks were being conducted.
The Redwood Falls Police Department commends the responsible business people in the community who successfully refused to sell the tobacco products to the underage buyers.
