This holiday season remember your loved ones by making a donation to the Redwood Area Hospital Hospice Tree of Lights. Your donation helps people live their final days with dignity among family and friends.
The Tree of Lights is a visual reminder of the loved ones we hold dear to our hearts.
A Tree of Lights lighting ceremony is being held Friday at 6 p.m. downtown Redwood Falls. A second Tree of Lights is scheduled to shine in Morton at 7 p.m. that night.
Hospice donations can be made in honor or memory of a loved one as we celebrate and remember those who are most important to us. Each day during the holiday season, listen to KLGR-AM funeral news at noon to hear a short list of some of the loved ones remembered. A complete list of those remembered can be found on the hospital Web site at www.redwoodareahospital.org.
The Redwood Area Hospital Hospice program will also be raising funds through sales of a Willow Tree Angel ornament.
This year’s ornament, “Angel of the Heart” is available at Connie’s Hallmark and special events through the 2012 Christmas holiday season.
Proceeds of the ornament purchase go directly to the hospital’s hospice program.
When an ornament is purchased at Connie’s Hallmark, customers hang a card remembering their loved ones on a special tree in the store.
“It’s a very emotional experience to see Connie’s tree and the many special people remembered in our community,” said Kay Peters, Redwood Area Hospital Hospice manager.
Ornaments are also being sold at area holiday events, including Lamberton’s “Taste of the Season” event Nov. 23 and Sanborn’s “Hometown Christmas” event Dec. 1.
