  • In an effort to ensure the best information is available to the community, the Redwood Area School District spent countless hours developing an enhanced Web site that includes more information and a more user friendly layout.
The site, which can be found at the same address – redwood.mntm.org – includes a variety of new features, as well as those things the community has come to expect.
“We went live this morning,” said Kelly Lutgen Monday, who was one of a handful of people involved in the Web sites new look.
One of the most significant changes on the site is the addition of a site for every teacher in the district. On those sites, teachers have information for students and parents, such as class syllabus outlines as well as schedules and contact information. All sites must have certain elements, but according to Rick Elli-ngworth, RASD superintendent many of the treachers are going to be adding a lot more to their sites than what they’re required to include.
Ellingworth talked about the enhanced Web site at the Redwood Area Board of Education meeting Monday night, offering compliments to those who put in the hours to improve the site.
“This was a major effort,” said Ellingworth, adding everyone seems to be pretty excited about it.
Lutgen said there is a variety of forms available online for parents to access, and she said the school district’s plan is to add even more information in the future.
Among those things still to be added are sites for each of the athletic programs which would include information form the coaches about their respective activity.
The hope is to have the winter activity sites up and running before those sports begin.
“If it is live and available to the public we feel good about what is there,” said Elling-worth, adding the site is definitely still a work in progress.
He encouraged members of the public to go on and take a look at the site.
Public feedback on the site is welcome.
One may also find information about the early childhood program, announcements and menus for each of the school sites, as well as information about the school board and community education on the site. An up top date Cardinal Happen-ings and lots of photos are also on the site.
The Skyward family access portal is still part of the site, and parents are encouraged to continue utilizing that to keep up with the information on their child(ren) who are part of the district.
    Check it out today.
