  • To help area children become comfortable with firefighters and what they do, the Redwood Falls and Morton fire departments invite everyone to a family-friendly open house on Thursday, Oct. 11.

  • One of every firefighters’ worst nightmares is of scared children running away from them during an emergency.
    To help area children become comfortable with firefighters and what they do, the Redwood Falls and Morton fire departments invite everyone to a family-friendly open house on Thursday, Oct. 11
    The open house, at the Redwood Falls fire house from 6-8 p.m., will have many activities for the kids, including:
    • An automobile extraction demonstration, showing how the jaws-of-life save lives.
    • A smoke room for children to find objects in a dark, smoky room.
    • Door prizes.
    • Cookies and juice.
    At approximately 7 p.m., North Air Care will land a helicopter on the fire house lawn.
    The fire house is located at 900 S. Gould St. in Redwood Falls. For more information, call 507-627-8417.
