  • The Redwood Area Development Corporation (RADC) is hosting its latest Let’s Talk Broadband! meetings this month.
    The seminars and webinars are designed to help businesses make the best use of broadband services to promote their businesses and reach potential customers.
    • Social Media Breakfast
    On Friday, Oct. 5, Jackie Edwards, Redwood Falls parks and recreation director, will be the speaker at the this month’s Social Media Breakfast.
    The subject: how Edwards manages the social media accounts for the Redwood Area Community Center, Redwood Falls Aquatic Center and Alexander Ramsey Park.
    Stated Edwards, “I am excited to talk at Social Media Breakfast to tell you more about what we have to offer through Parks & Recreation in Redwood Falls, but also to talk more to you about our social media plans.
    “Our social media consists of three Facebook sites (Ramsey Park, Aquatic Center, and RACC), along with our website and other various marketing tools that we utilize.”
    The Social Media Breakfast, to be held at Fieldstone Vineyard in downtown Redwood Falls, is free.
    • Broadband webinar
    October’s broadband webinar, set for Oct. 4 from 12 p.m.-1 p.m., features Hoot Suite, a tool for managing media tools.
    One of the hardest parts of social media is balancing all the tools available today. How can you manage several conversation on an ongoing basis?
    There are some free and low cost tools that can help keep a buzz going and some tips to help you make the most of your time and effort online.
    • Community training
    On Oct. 11, Sarah Kuglin of Redwood Valley Technical Solutions will host “Websites for Business”.
    This session focuses on how to create a free website in WordPress, a free online blogging and website development tool with pre-existing templates that you can use to create your own site.
    The community training is set for two locations:
    • Redwood Falls from 8:30-10 am
    • Lamberton/11:30 am-1:00 pm
