Nancy Lee Anderson, 74, of Sun City, Ariz., formerly of Redwood Falls, passed away September 6, 2012 in Phoenix, Ariz. from complications from pancreatic cancer surgery.
Nancy Lee Palmer was born July 29, 1938 to Marvin and Doris (Gray) Palmer in Redwood Falls. She was baptized and confirmed at the First Presbyterian Church of Redwood Falls.
She graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1956 and worked as a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell, which is where she met her future husband.
She married Robert “Andy” Anderson December 15, 1957. Nancy and Andy raised two sons, Brad and Craig, living in Redwood Falls, Olivia, Rochester, St. Peter, Owatonna and Omaha. After retirement, they traveled for four years as full-time RVers until settling in Sun City, where they have lived for 20 years.
Nancy enjoyed growing up on the farm, riding horses, participating in 4-H and learning the art of homemaking. Later, Nancy would take up golf and enjoyed playing in leagues and making friends on the golf course. She also enjoyed playing cards, bowling and sewing. Nancy and Andy enjoyed many cruises and traveling in their retirement years. Nancy loved socializing with her coffee groups, bowling teams, and family.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 54 years Andy, sons Brad (Maureen) of Menifee, Calif., Craig (Melissa) of Owatonna, and grandchildren Megan, Blake, Lindsay and Dylan; sisters Kay (Doug) Jensen, Jeane Dennistoun, Patty Rohne, and brothers Rob (Jeanne) and Jim Palmer, all of Redwood Falls and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Doris Palmer.
A service of remembrance will be held Monday, September 17 at 10:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Redwood Falls.
