  • Most people have likely not heard the name Caleb Quaye before, but those who listened to Elton John during the 60s would have heard him.
Quaye, a guitarist by profession in the 60s and 70s, was a well-known studio musician who worked with rock legends, such as Mick Jagger, Pete Townsend and Paul McCartney, in addition to spending a decade as the guitarist for Elton John.
Although Quaye played with some of the great musicians of his day, he found something even better in life in 1982 when he became a Christian.
Since then, Quaye has been a musician and evangelist and is currently serving at a church in California.
Quaye is going to bring his story to Redwood Falls Sept. 7 when a special Mancave: Extreme is being held at the Redwood Area Community Center.
Mancave, which is an informal group of men from a variety of area churches, meets each month in an informal setting to worship and fellowship together.
According to Ron Partridge, Red-wood Falls Assembly of God Church pastor, the Sept. 7 event offers men a chance to connect with other men from different churches, adding it also provides an opportunity for men who would like to learn more about the Christian faith but might not be comfortable in a church setting.
“This is one way we as men can come together in unity,” said Partridge, adding this is one way Christian men can make their lives count.
Partridge said the Friday night event is going to be very informal, with free food and prizes offered to those who are in attendance.
The doors open at 6 p.m. with the event starting at 6:30 p.m. and lasting until about 8 p.m.
Mancave is a group offered to men 18 years of age and older, which meets the second Sunday of each month from September through April at Calf Fiend Cafe. Those meetings, including one scheduled for Sept. 9 (also featuring Quaye), start at 6:30 p.m. and last about an hour, said Partridge.
All men who are interested in learning more about the journey of life are invited and encouraged to attend this special Sept. 7 event and to attend the Mancave meetings each month.
