    Joseph Braun, 81, of Danube, died Sunday, July 22, 2012 at Golden Living Center in Olivia. 


    Mass of Christian Burial was Wednesday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia with Rev. Paul van de Crommert as celebrant. Burial was in the church cemetery.

  •   Joseph Braun, 81, of Danube, died Sunday, July 22, 2012 at Golden Living Center in Olivia.  Mass of Christian Burial was Wednesday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia with Rev. Paul van de Crommert as celebrant. Burial was in the church cemetery.   Joseph Braun was born January 14, 1931 at Sleepy Eye to Joseph and Viola (Zander) Braun. He attended school at Sleepy Eye and later his family moved to a farm at Olivia.  Joe married Margaret Buchtel July 27, 1950 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia. They made their home and farmed near Danube.   Joe and Margaret had also operated JB Tours for 10 years.  Joe was a faithful member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. He had enjoyed working, hunting, fishing, visiting casinos and participating in blackjack tournaments. Joe is survived by his special friend, Delores Serbus of Olivia; his three children: Pat Zuhlsdorf of Olivia, Gary (and Lois) Braun of White Bear Lake and Kevin (and Bonnie) Braun of Danube; his nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and 15 step-great-grandchildren and his two sisters: Verna (and Bernard) Anderson of Willmar and Loretta Rachel of Sunnyvale, Calif.  Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Margaret in 2009, his son-in-law Richard Zuhlsdorf, his sister Veronica Groebner and his brother Wilbur Braun. Blessed be his memory.
