The Redwood Area Chamber & Tourism office has announced the hiring of Anne Johnson as its new executive director effective July 16. She is going to replace current director, Alyssa Hammerschmidt, who is leaving to pursue another opportunity.
Johnson moved to the Redwood Area more than 20 years ago and has called it home ever since. She comes to this position with a very strong passion for this community and has not only been working in many volunteer positions to help the community prosper but looks forward to being a force for the Chamber program in the planning of the future.
Johnson has a background as an educator and has worked actively with the Women of To-day organization on a state and local level, the Redwood Area School District, the Redwood Area Library Foundation, and Johnson is a graduate of the Blandin Community Leadership Program among many things.
Johnson looks forward to utilizing her talents to uphold the mission and vision of the chamber and to provide community leadership to ensure the economic advancement of the area.
