Sometimes you just want a day of pampering for yourself.
Sometimes a couple wants some togetherness time to relax and feel special.
Welcome to Special Touch Massage and Day Spa, which opened in August, 2011 in rural Redwood Falls.
The idea began six years ago, when owner Krista Trebesch, a certified massage therapist, was collaborating with a chiropractor. She moved her massage therapy office into her home in rural Redwood Falls in 2005, but quickly outgrew the space.
“I’ve always dreamed of having a spa, someplace people could come to enjoy and relax,” she said.
Last summer, she built a separate building near her home to include a hair salon, and separate rooms for pedicures and manicures.
A “relaxing room” is perfect for taking breaks between spa treatments, or for lunching.
In addition to two massage rooms, Trebesch has a spa equipped for facials and skin care treatments.
“Facials are still kind of new to the area,” Trebesch said. “We offer a professional product line and skin care program that’s customizable for each client’s skin needs.
“We also carry full lines of professional hair and nail products, and a new service: make up applications for weddings and senior photos.
“It’s been a nice surprise how much we’ve been able to add on in services in such a short time.”
Special Touch’s current line up includes massage therapists Trebesch, Heidi Wilhelmi, Tammy Tordsen, and Candice Krueger, Estheticians Lizzy Ellingson and Samantha Trebesch, and hair stylists/nail technicians Casey Kerkhoff, Lizzy Ellingson, and Jessica Schultz.
