Firing a one-over par 71, Redwood Valley sophomore Adam Hengel earned medalist honors Monday afternoon at the Southwest Conference golf meet.
The event – held at the Redwood Falls Golf Club – was dominated on the boys side by the Marshall Tigers who fired a 299 to hold off Redwood Valley (314) by 15 strokes.
The Tigers had four golfers finish in the top six, including Matt Bennett who was second with a 72.
Hengel put together his best 18-hole round of the season to help the Cards earn a second place finish.
Mitch Fischer and Derek Bebeau carded 80s, and Alec Koster added an 83 for the Cards top four scores.
Joe Smith would finish with an 86, and Thane Widmer added a 91.

The Redwood Valley girls, meanwhile, finished in seventh place overall against an extremely competitive SWC line-up.
Windom Area fired a 377 to edge JCC (383) and Marshall?(386) for the title.
Julie Anderson led the Cards with a 99, Alex Erie and Madison Tholkes had 106s and Abby Schmidt finished with a 107.
