It was a record-setting day for Redwood Valley track standout RJ?Juell, as he led the Cardinals to a second place finish at the St. James Olympia Meet.
Juell cleared 13’8” in the pole vault to eclipse the previous school record of 13’7” set by older brother TJ?Juell.
He then recorded a season best jump of 6’4” in to win the high jump.
“We played with the line-ups a little bit for conditioning and thought it might impact RJ’s jumps,” coach Andy Regnier said. “He hadn’t run in two events in three years but did it today, and it really payed off.”
Juell would score 26 total points, adding a third in the 200 meter dash (25.1) and a sixth in the 400 (55.9).
