  • Cardinal linksters dominate Sting

  • Despite cool, blustery conditions the Redwood Valley boys and girls golf teams rolled to victories over YME Tuesday afternoon at the Redwood Falls Golf Club.
    The Cardinal boys improved to 3-0 on the season with a 20-stroke victory, topping the outmanned Sting 166-186.
    Adam Hengel led a balanced effort by earning medalist honors with his round of 39.
    Mitch?Fischer was two back at 41, Derek Bebeau and Joe Smith each carded 43s, Alec Koster added a 44 and Thane Widmer finished with a 51 in his season debut.
    Jordan Zens led the?Sting with a 43.
    The Cardinals home Quadrangular was cancelled on Friday due to the weather, a make-up date has not been announced.
    Redwood Valley will open up SWC play Monday at Pipestone Area.

    YME?(186) - Zens 43, Charles Blue 45, Spencer McCosh 48, Sam Jans 50, Mitch McCosh 50, Grant Lalim 53
    The Cardinal girls also put together their best round of the season, topping the Sting by 38 strokes 206-244.
    Julie Anderson carded a 47 to earn medalist honors as the Cardinals improved to 2-1 in dual meet action.
    Abby Schmidt cracked 50 for the first time this season with her round of 49.
    Madison Tholkes added a 54, Alex Erie and MaKenzie Mace had 56s and MaKenzie Manthei finished with a 58.
    Eric Marite paced the Sting with a 55.
    The Cardinal girls will travel to Pipestone on Monday.
