Redwood Area Hospital Caring Connection is joining in celebration of the National Adult Day Services Week, Sept. 18-24. The National Adult Day Services Association sponsors this week, themed “Adult Day Services:  Building and Supporting Communities.” “Families often tell me what an impact our program had on their loved one,” said Lynn Buckley, Redwood Area Hos-pital Caring Connections manager. “Attending the program has given them purpose in their life – a reason to get up in the morning. Each participant is supported and motivated to maintain their highest degree of independence and well-being.”  Adult day service programs offer an ideal alternative to caregivers by providing a daytime care environment outside of the home. The program can significantly improve the lives of adults of any age with functional and/or cognitive impairments, enabling them to live at home with family or friend caregivers. At Redwood Area Hospital, Caring Connection provides a program where a loved one can be nurtured, stimulated, provided medical care and at the same time provide a welcome relief for the caregiver. Families interested in a free trial visit to Caring Connection should call (507) 637-4508.
