Veterans of the Red-wood area are invited to the Redwood Falls National Guard Armory Sept. 22 for an informational and educational event. From 5-8 p.m. a provider fair is taking place with a number of entities and agencies taking part. Providers from the Minnesota Assistance Council, the Minnesota Department of Veter-ans Affairs, Minnesota Veterans Homes, the VA Medical Center in St. Cloud and Minnea-polis, Vocational Re-habilitation, the CBOC of Montevideo and St. James and the Beyond the Yellow Ribbon committee are scheduled to take part in the provider fair. In addition state representatives from the American Legion and VFW are going to be on hand to answer questions about important veterans issues. As part of the event, the VA system’s representatives are going to conduct a veteran en-rollment seminar. According to the VA, there are nearly 400,000 veterans in Minnesota. Yet, only half of them are utilizing the health care benefits. Information is available for veterans and their spouses. A meal is also being served during the provider fair. The meal and provider fair are free of charge. Registrations are requested by Sept. 16.
