Rallying from a three-point halftime deficit the Redwood Valley girls basketball team claimed its first victory of the season with a 44-35 victory over host Renville County West Monday night in a non-conference match-up.
The Cardinals (1-11) trailed 22-19 before going on a 25-13 run to end the game and keep the Jaguars winless on the season at 0-11.
Redwood Valley finished with three girls in double figures led by Sam Felt with 13 points, five rebounds and four steals.
Liz Smith added 13 points and five rebounds, and Jessica Fischer finished with 12 points, four steals and four assists.
Steph Jensen chipped in with four points and three steals.
The Cardinals won despite finishing just 18-of-35 from the charity stripe.
